Days 2 - 7
Cruise days on board the selected boat. During these days you will dive the best dive sites in the area included in the itinerary. We will find wall dives, slopes and flat reefs, where most of the most representative reef fauna of the Red Sea live, but we will also be able to see some sharks. We will also enjoy the famous St. Johns Caves, where we will enjoy the play of light and shadow. The corals, equally abundant, are displayed in a great variety of species, with large gorgonians, hard corals and colourful soft corals.
What adventure awaits us?
Setting sail from Marsa Galib, this programme will take us to the southernmost reefs of the Egyptian Red Sea, an itinerary that alternates between calm dives, in reefs full of corals and tropical fish, and other more action-packed dives in which sharks often play a prominent role. The reefs of St. Maarten and St. Martin are both easy to dive and the reefs of St. Maarten are not too difficult to dive. The reefs of St. Johns offer spectacular corals and large gorgonians, but at the same time it is a place where you can encounter hammerhead sharks or large humphead wrasse.
Further north a network of hard coral formations make up the complex reef system of Fury Shoals, with sites such as Abu Galawa Soraya or Sha'sb Claude, points inhabited by a variety of fish, dolphins and several species of sharks, Fury Shoals is a diverse coral garden and a spectacular dive site. Apart from the endless and colourful marine life, the lagoon also contains the remains of a tugboat and sailing ship for exploration.
And close to Marsa Galib is the Elphistone Reef, which offers a colourful reef where alcyonarians alternate with hard corals and gorgonians, but are often overshadowed by the attraction of possible encounters with sharks, both grey and whitetip reef sharks in the deeper, outer areas, and the oceanic longimanus or whitetips that hang around in the shallower, calmer areas.
